After thinking about Mrs. Brock's fabulous presentation yesterday, please take a moment to reflect: what did you learn?, what connections did you make, what surprised you and of course, your appreciation to Mrs. Brock for taking the time to share her learning with us.
Hey Mrs. Brock! Thanks so much for coming to our class to explain the types and testing for them. I found it really interesting to see what types my classmates and I are. It's very cool how a small image like a beach ball can trigger thoughts and ideas and show what type you are. Thanks again for coming and sharing what you do.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming to teach our calss yesterday! It was really fun and I learned so much about the brain and type that I probably would have never learned anywhere else. Your presentation was very fascinating. What was surprising was that when you were describing the diffent types, I learned a lot about the type of brain that I have and that helps me learn the kind of person I am. The tips that you had at the end were extremely helpful, and also pointing out specific characteristics of each type that a person needs to be carfeful of was really important as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to come and speak to our class! I really enjoyed your insightful information.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day to come and talk to us about personality types. It was very interesting and I learned a lot about the different types of people that exist. I learned about the view points of other people and how they compare and contrast with my own. I was surprised at how much my personality was a little bit of everything. I was never completely one side or the other. I really could not decipher and put myself into any one category. The brain is extremely interesting so thank you for coming and sharing your knowledge with us.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteYour knowledge of brains and the way in which ours work was fascinating. I learned that I was an ESFJ thinker. I never knew that there were these set and proven categories that people can fall under. It really suprised me how my classmates turned out to be different than I originally expected. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your week to give us the necessary knowledge to read this book, we really appreciate it.
Kyle H.
Dear Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming and talking to our class yesterday! I learned a lot of things about different personality types. I now have a better understanding of the different personalities that my friends have.
I also learned what type of personality I have. INFP.
I think that what you taught us was very interesting, and I think that in the future I would like to do learn more about psychology.
Again, thank you so much for talking to us, it was very interesting and entertaining!
-Gabby M.
I thought that Mrs. Brock's presentation was very interesting and informitive on how my brain thinks. I thought that a lot of the subjects I was in the middle of the two types of thinking, and am still confused on that. Altough since I don't understand fully how I am it makes me want to research more about learning. Thank you Mrs. Brock for coming into the class and helping us learn more about our own brains.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Mrs. Brock! I learned a lot of different things about my mind. It also explains more about my personality, and how I work more. I connected some of the different types to my friends and family. I was really suprised about how even parts were about me, such as the introvert and extrovert ideas. I was also suprised about how different parts of my brain was, in the case of intuitive and sensing. Thanks so much again Mrs. Brock! I really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteKelly P.
I think that I learned that everyone's mind is different. I don't think you can be classified as a 'Left' brainer or a 'Right' brainer because every part of the brain is used to perform different functions. There is always the cost and reward factor to everything you do, and your whole brain thinks about it. I also think that some people are more robust that others because they view the world in a different way. You have a personality, but I think it can be changed, especially during childhood, when you're brain is the most exposed to ideas and dissenting views. Overall though, this personality is your base personality. It can be invaded, built upon, or diminished, but it always remains as your base. But Left and Right brained is not how people should be classified. People have a distinct personality that should not be classified as a Left brained or Right brained personality. Everyone's brain is different, I believe. Thank you much Mrs. Brock. I learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteThank you for presenting in front of our class to enhance our understanding of "A Whole New Mind." I found the presentation to be very insightful and eye opening to my knowledge of my brain. I learned many things I had no idea about. One thing I learned was that someone is not anti-social, but actually an introvert. I also liked how during the entire presentation I was able to read the bulleted information and match my personality exactly. I also like how it was explained that someone can have characteristics from both types of thinking such as judging and feeling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to our class. I had no idea that our brains were more thanjust rightbrainedleft brained. It helped me draw intersting parells between my life and what Daniel Pink is trying to tell me. For example I had no idea I was holistic I never would have known. Thanks Cole
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking your time to come and explain all of your expertise. It was so interesting to learn what kind of student I was and what kinds of students my friends are. I was surprised how one of my friends and I were almost exactly opposites when we seem very similar for the most part. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThe presentation Mrs. Brocks showed us yesterday helped me learn a lot obout the kind of person I am and how I think. I had heard the terms extravert and introvert but I never really understood what they meant. At first as we dicussed them yesterday it sounded as if an extravert is very very social and an intravert is super shy but after a little more of discussing I found that that interpretation was wrong. I learned that even though I do like some down time, I am more of an extravert because I do not need as much time to rest as say an introvert does. I also learned that an intrvert isn't completely shy, they jut tend to feel much more comfortable when they are with a smaller group of friends. I also found that I was a sensing, feeling, and judging person. I thought it was super interesting that therer were 16 different sets of types that people could be. Thanks Mrs. Brock for coming in and helping us students learn a better understanding of how the mind works.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock:
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming in and teaching us about the different types of minds. I knew nothing about them before, but after your presentation my brain was pulsing with new information. It was fun figuring out what kind of mind I have; it made me start thinking about the faults and benefits of each type. You've had a pretty cool life.
Thank you Mrs. Brock! I found out alot about my personality from your presentation. I learned that I am an extravert and sensing. It was also very interesting to how all of the extraverts and introverts wrote down the same thing about the beach ball. I related alot to the types that you presented to us. I thought it was awesome how I could connect to all the traits you presented as introverts and though it was really intersting. Thanks again for taking your time to come speak to us and help us learn more about A Whole New Mind!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I want to think Mrs. Brock for coming to speack to us. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. I enjoyed learning about the personality types. Since yesterday, I have been watching my own behavior/personality more closely and trying to figure out my personality type. I am still unsure if I am a thinking or feeling type. Learning about all the different personality types really explains the way my friends and family all react to situations differently. Also, learning about this will help me to understand other people's reactions.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming in yesterday to explain to us about personality typing, and how that affects our learning. One of the things I learned was that my personality type is completely different than what my parents said it was. They had explained to me about the Meyers-Briggs, and told me what they thought I was, and after your presentation yesterday, I'm glad that I know what I really am. One of the things that connected with me was how different the judging and perceiving people are. I always thought that I would be a judging person, but found out that I am really perceiving. Thank you so much for coming into talk to us, since it was taking time out of your day.
All the best,
Taylor
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming into or class and teaching us about the different types of people and their learning styles. I thought that it was really interesting. I thought it was cool how accurate the descriptions were. Sometimes it was hard to choose which option I was, because I did things in both categories. It was also interesting how some of my friends were total opposites of me, but we still get along really well. Thank you again for coming!
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteI would like to start by giving you a big thank you for the taking time out of your day to give us this great presentation. I found that I am sensing, thinking, and percieving, and I'm not sure whether I'm an extrovert or an introvert, but from what I can tell, I am pretty much both. I thought that this presentation it was a great way for us to figure out what combination we are. I especially thought that the beachball activity was really cool. The responses that were from sensing and intuitive were so different and consistent. It was a great presentation, thank you very much.
Mrs. Brock-
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for coming to our classrom to talk to us about Type. I found the presentation very interesting and it was helpful to identify my own type. Your field of work is very intriguing and really makes you think. I had a good time in class yesterday. Thanks again,
Derek S
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming into the class to explain your fascinating job. It is amazing that no matter how different the person, they all fall into certain categories no matter what. It was very interesting to see how the population of the class was split into right brained thinkers and left brained thinkers. Most of our class ended up being mostly left brained thinkers, which wasn't all that surprising considering that this is an honors class. I pride myself on the fact that I am a creative, right brained thinker, and thanks to you I have a better understanding as to what that is. Thank you so much for discussing your profession with our 9th grade honors English class!
-Arika Drake
Thank you Mrs. Brock, for the wonderful presentation you gave to our class. It was very informative and I learned that I am an inroverte, sensing, thinking, and perceiving type. It gave me insight on techniques I can use to solidify my attributes, as well as what I can do to enhance the attributes I am weak in. The presentation was relateable to my life, and the features of each of the techniques was something that I have done often in my life. I was suprised to see that there are many categories in how each individual sees the world. I never would have thought me as a sensing and perceiving person. It was a great presentation that gave good insight into how the people of our world act and perceive the world.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking your time to come teach us about personality types. I learned alot about the specifics of what a true extrovert is. I knew the basics, but it was cool to see the little details and most of them fit me. I went home yesterday and told my parents what my types were and my mom had the exact same personality types as I do when she was 15. I thought that was really interesting, seeing how we are pretty different in our motivators. I loved learning a little bit about what makes me me and I thank you for taking the time to share it.
Mrs. Brock:
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking the time to come to our class yesterday. It was definitely a lot of fun and it also helped me to learn more about myself. Since you’ve taught me what kind of student I am, I now know what I could do to help improve myself as a student and as an overall person. When you conducted all of the activities for all of us to do, I had questions on some of them, but in a roundabout way, you always answered my question, which was cool. On some of them, I also was like, WOW, that is definitely me, no questions asked! That was pretty cool! Again, thank you so much for coming and taking time out of your day to work with us high school students. Thank you for conducting all of this research.
Thank you
Thank you Mrs. Brock for coming in and explaining all of the different types of people. It has and will continue to help me in the furture. From our class discussion I have learned what type of person I am and what I need to work on to help myself become a whole minded person. I also know what my strengths are and how I can learn using those strengths. Your presentation explained a lot to me and I will keep it in mind while reading the rest of A Whole New Mind.
ReplyDeleteDear Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming into our class and talking about the many different types of people in the world. I am a ESFP thinker and i think that describes me almost perfect. I learned to understand, like you said, that everyone is different and everyone brings something different to the world. Most people probably don't know what they are. I didn't at the beginning but now after learning what i am, I can work on my "stretches" and strengths.
Once again Thank you!
Christina S.
Thank you Mrs. Brock for coming in to visit our class and talk to us about different types of people and how they learn. This was very interesting to learn about the different learning styles because then students and teachers can understand each other. I loved to hear what type I was and also was confused because it was kind of hard to decide which attributes that I could fit. I am going to try to see exactly which attribute type I am in the next week. Thanks again for coming in to visit our class.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all thank you Mrs. Brock.
ReplyDeleteI found what you presented to us was very interesting. I did this same test before but I didn't really know what it meant. I now know what it really means to be an introvert. Its not just somebody who stays quiet the whole time, but who gets their energy from within themselves. The presentation also gave me the oppurtunity to learn how to most be affective with my own personality type.
Dear Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming and talking to us. It was interesting for me to learn more about myself and about the things that I need to work on. I also learned about the difference between me and my friends and some of the reasons that we get along and some that disagree. I am so glad that I was able to learn so much. The beach ball activity was one in which I learned that the different types of people think so differently. It is good to know that no one is more important, no matter what others think.
Thanks again!
Sarah
Mrs. Brock, thankyou so much for coming into our English class yesterday and explaining different personality types. It was really interesting to see what I am and what other people are and I was actually really suprised that I fit some of the types that I didn't think that I fit. It was really interesting how much was in common with the different types. The beach ball activity was really interesting. I noticed that the people who were intuitive and the people who were sensing had very different sentences. Most sensing people seemed to describe the beach ball in complete sentences and most intuitive people wrote down words that the beach ball made them think of. It was a very neat presentation and thankyou again for coming in to our class.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your insight and information on personality types and brain function. It was really an eye openner to break down yourself into its raw state. The information you gave our class will surely help in understanding the concepts in A Whole New Mind.
Thank you Mrs. Brock for coming in. It was very interesting to see what four trait my brain were in comparison to the activities we did, like the beach ball one. I thought the information you provided us with was in a way more helpful than was Daniel Pink has told us. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteWill Albyn
Mrs. Brock~
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for coming to talk to our classroom. I learned a lot about my personality type and the way that I interact with my family and friends. I am a feeling person, so it makes sense that sometimes I take things the wrong way. I also thought it was cool how at the end you tied in people's personality types with the topics in A Whole New Mind. It made me think abou the topics a little differently. Thanks again, it was a cool experience to have while reading the book also. Emily
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming and talking to our class! I learned a lot of stuff I never knew. I also learned things about extrovesion and introverion that I never knew. I thought the activities you had us do were really interseting as well. I really liked when we had to write with our opposite hands. I also liked when we had to describe the beach ball, it really showed how different we all are and all of out different personality types. Thank you so much for taking your time!
Thanks!
Victoria R.
Mrs. Brock, thank you so much for taking your time to talk to us! I learned a lot because of it, and it was very benefical. It was interesting to learn about the different personality types and what kind I was. WThe beach ball acitivity surprised me by how accurate it was. Your suggestions for different personality types also helps a lot. It was a great presentation!
ReplyDeleteThankyou Mrs. Brock so much for coming to our class. You really taught me a lot about my own brain and other types of brains. It was really interesting and I had no idea that there were so many brain types. Thank you so much again and I hope you can come back some time.
ReplyDeleteHey Mrs. Brock Thank you for coming in to talk to our class. I really did enjoy your presentation and it has really caused me to think about myself as I am sure the previous 30 bloggers have told you. Once again thank you for your valuable time.
ReplyDeleteNathan Ducey
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking your time to come and talk to our English class yesterday. It was really interesting and eye opening to learn about the different personality types. It was very interesting to see how absolutely different or how similar you are to someone. Some categories that I would have never thought to be in, actually fit me. I learned alot of new, fun, and interesting things yesterday. Again thank you very much for your presentation.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mrs. Brock for coming and talking to us about how our brains and personalitites work together. It was very interesting to learn where I fell in the Myers-Briggs tests and how I can apply that to my learning. I really enjoyed connecting personality types to A Whole New Mind. Thanks Again,
ReplyDeleteBen
Mrs. Brock, I would like to thank you so much for coming to our class. I found it quite cool to find out how people can be so different, but then by the same type and have similar ideas. As with the beach ball, where sensing people all had the same things written down. My code combination was ENTP. I personally found it very intressting that more people in the U.S. were judgeing. I suppose I just thought that I was so unorganized and such a procrastinator, the rest of the population was to. Anyway, thank you so much for coming and explaing how the brain works. I had so many questions answered, this will definetly enhance the reading of A Whole New Mind for me. Thanks again! Riley W.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs. Brock. I just wanted to thank you for coming in and teaching us about how different brains work. I now know why certain people approach situations the way they do. My brother Kevin and I are extremely different, and now I know why. I was surprised to see how many people around me were similar to me. It was a ton of fun. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteMrs Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming to our class to teach us about type, it was very fasinating. I didn't know that there were set categories and I was very surprised at how I fit into the types. I learned a lot, especially about why my friends and I often disagree even though we are so close. I was amused by how different the sensing and intuition sentences were. I really enjoyed your presentation and will remember what you said while I read the rest of A Whole New Mind. Thanks!
Hey there, Mrs. Brock! Thank you bunches for coming to our class and telling us more about your profession. At first I was like "Oh great, another one of those personality pigeon-holing thing" but it turned out to be pretty cool! It was neat how people would say the excact same thing for the beach ball that fit in the same group. I also liked how you clarified that judging didn't mean judgemental and that there was no bad group and no superior group. It was super interesting! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I now know much more about how my brain works and what I can do to appreciate people differences in thinking. I can use this knowledge to help me understand "A Whole New Mind" more. It was interesting to learn my personality type and I found that they usually described me well. After learning about personalities that are different than mine I learned how to understand other people better.
ReplyDeleteDear Mrs Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming and talking talking to us about our types and brains. you really taught me a lot about myself and the way I think. It really helped me to better understand and comprehend the novel, "A Whole New Mind." The beach ball example was one of my favorite and one of the most interesting parts. I found out I was sensing because I stated the colors and the shape. I would have never noticed that the intuition people would state different things about it. The connections you helped me put "A Whole New Mind," in a whole different perspective.
Thank you again,
Casey
Dear Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you for coming into our class to share your profession with us. I learned a lot about myself and my friends. I think it would be really cool to actually take the test because there were times when I couldn't choose which one is was. Once again thank you for coming in.
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming in and teaching us about our brains. It was very interesting to learn about what types we are. I had never really thought about my brain that way and I enjoyed looking at it in a new perspective. I think that many of the types described me well and for some was kind of in between. Thank you again for taking the time to teach us new and interesting things.
Molly S
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to our class and talking about the brain. It was interesting how two different people with the same type of brain can think the same thing about something without talking to each other. It also helped with understanding the whole "left-brain vs. right-brain" conversations.
Dear Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for coming and talking to our class about te brain. It was cool to see a beach ball classify a peron's brain. I was really intrigued by the classification process of the brain. I am also very interested in brians and was overjoyed to see how it is made. Thanks again!
Hey Mrs. Brock, it was really great to learn about my thinking patterens and how I learn best. I really enjoyed seeing how everything worked. I'd love to learn more! Thanks!! It was super interesting!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedual to come tell us about what you do. It was very interesting to learn how my brain worked. I even got tips on how to handle future situations based on my brain type. It was very entertaining and I learned something new about myself. Thank you very much.

Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking the time out of your day to come in and talk to the class. It was such an awesome presentaiton! I learned so much and had so much fun. It was so interesting to learn about all the different personality types. The beach ball activity was so much fun. Thanks again for such a great presentation.
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for coming to talk to us. I found the lecture very interesting, about how there could be two completely different ways of learning or doing things and both were effective, but I was confused on whether or not one could posses both or at least parts of both. It was really cool to figure out how I did things and then realize that maybe I could apply some of what you had talked about to my own learning.
Thanks again,
Courtney
Hi Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeletethank you so much for your presentation. I thought it was very interesting. I really liked when you talked about judging and perceiving. That category was the one which was the easiest for me to categorize myself. I am definitely judging. I like to follow a very strict schedule. Once again, Thank you very much.
Laura D.
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to speak to our class yesterday. You're presentation was very insightful and thought provoking. I had never thought of the traits you described yesterday and I found it interesting to try to classify myself. I also found it interesting to see the traits of others that I spend time with. Now everytime I make observations or speak I am always thinking about what you taught us.
Mrs Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming in to tell us about the comparison between each type of personality. I enjoyed learning about my own types and the concepts that each type addresses. This information will help me with the information that A Whole New Mind gives. I also enjoyed the information on the brain and what each section of the brain does.
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming to talk to us about our brains! I loved figuring out the different types of brains we had and thinking about my brain. I learned that in the different category types, sometimes boys had a higher percentage and sometimes the girls had a higher percentage. It was also cool to see how different people thought about the picture of the beach ball! Thanks again for coming to expand our knowledge on brains!
Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming to our class and sharing you knowledge about the brain. I enjoyed learning about what "type" I am and how it affects my life. The Myers-Briggs tests were very interesting. I also liked the results of the beach ball test because it proved the different types of people.
Mitch A
Dear Mrs. Brock,
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming into our class yesterday and teaching us about the different personality types. It was interesting to me what types people were and what I was as well. The thing that I liked the most was the decision making "graph", that used all different types of personalities to come to a decision. And using that "graph" was exactly what needs to be learned from reading A Whole New Mind, it's the idea that we don't use one part of our mind to make decisions, but we use all parts. Anyways, thank you again for coming to talk to us yesterday.
-Veronica M
Thank you mrs. brock for comming into our class and teaching us about the brain and the differant types as well. you greatly expanded my knowledge on the human mind and i found out what kind of thinker i truly am. Thankyou!
